First botched batch
Day 4 of being gluten and wheat free and my scalp itches. Lesley at work said I would have to keep this diet up for at least 6 weeks to know if it actually has any effect or not! SIX WEEKS!!!
But that’s not what’s bothering me now. It’s gone 11pm, Gazelle’s fast asleep and I’m on the staircase, blogging… I’m not going mad… I’m just very frustrated.
We’re having a shared lunch at work tomorrow afternoon and having made two successful batches of flapjacks and beginning to feel that I could work the oven, I decided to make a batch of gluten free brownies.
I’ve now decided that the oven doesn’t like me anymore. I thought we were becoming friends, but it’s done that whole recipe temperature/ time combo and oven temperature/time combo not matching up thing. I need an oven thermometer… or another oven.
I tried taking the brownies out about 10 minutes ago…. about 10 minutes later than the recipe said… I left them in for longer because I couldn’t smell them, and when I opened the oven door they collapsed! AAARRRGHHH!!!
I can smell them now they’re finally out, but they look deflated. Nothing like the BBC ones…

The hole in the middle is from me checking with a knife to see if they were done... they were.
I’m going to bed.
